Voting

Kinda in a weird mood so i am ranting so DONT get pissy at my rant i am just ranting...

we vote for or against something. Then the opposing party of the vote gets upset that majority of people felt one way and keep fighting. the winning party shouldn't let their guard down but should keep fighting and stand up for what they voted.

It gets way depressing when u rally together and let your mind and voice be heard in the way you vote to get your vote basically counted as "it didn't matter" in the end. I did a lot of research before i became a registered voter. I did a lot of "looking in to me" to find out what i stood for so that i had some back ground on how i would be casting my votes.

I am normally the person telling everyone even if you think your vote doesnt matter it does, you voice will be recorded, and you have the right to fight or complain and keep going b/c your participated in the system. But lately i feel like the system is failing me.

I feel like if i vote for something i know what i am voting for especially BIG hot topics. I do not go into a vote blind, i make my voice heard for what i stand for, and when my votes wins or fails that tells you if it was majority or not that stood to support.

There is a winner and looser. Our society now is in a such a mode where the looser has gotten a prize for even loosing that now they have a problem with loosing to the point of not believe that the lost. Yes you lost so change something about it in the future but not about the lost, that shyt is in past tense you lost...you should get no trophy you should get no conslation prize. You try harder next time, you learn where your weak spots are and u focus to change them so in the next battle you kick ass. You do not harp on the lost and make the other sides hard work look like it was nothing. How about if the people voted then bring it back to the people after you work on ur "weak areas", after you get your strategy together then take it back to the point where you lost the battle and try again.

Why dont things get taken in account as far as "unconstitutional", rights, etc before the voting. I feel when u put it in a vote you are asking what the majority of people feel and you are leaving up to that point in the system to get the opinion of those who live under the system. Everyone doesnt get a trophy and leave happy for participating, there is a winner and a looser suck it up deal with it...you took it to the people and the people voted they made their decision, they let you know what they stood for. So if you want change for it change it at their. B/c now you have people like me that see your efforts of going to the next level as making my vote look like it didnt matter.

I am starting to feel defeated in casting my vote. If your gonna ask me how i feel and what i want and then over turn what i feel and what i want then whats the point of asking...so i feel like i have been heard for a slight moment of time? Its BS its like being a little kid all over again...mom says no to you and your brother and then the loser asks dad and he over rules moms position and then you just feel that sinking in your stomach. Where you say that sucks i wanna cry but you cant you have to suck it up and go on with things hoping that all will work its way out one day.

I guess thats it even though we state what we want how we feel and we participate in the democratic process we are suppose to keep going keep voting. Just hope that one day when we vote for something and even though u win the vote you hope the looser doesnt ignore the process of taking it to the people and letting the people decided with out finding someone to say oh your vote doesnt matter b/c i say so.

So frickin whack and frustrating whats the purpose? If your gonna do what u want to do in our cities, state, and country then why even ask me to tell you what i think? Why ask me to cast my vote, why ask people to band together and voice their opinions and make their opinion heard only to give them false hope that what majority votes for would actually come to light?

Even though i do not believe that my voice is being heard and my thoughts and opinions are not being accounted for in California right now when i vote, i will still stand in line in the early morning with my practice ballot filled and my pen ready to cast my opinion and vote for what i choose to stand for on election day in hopes that at the end of the day when the votes are counted governing power is derived from the people.

  1. I think in most cases you're absolutely right. We vote, the votes are counted, the outcome is released to the public and then WHAM! Some other PAC or group of people picks up where the original campaign left off and we wind up voting again. But sometimes, and this isn't 100% true, but just sometimes, that appeal or that new vote is what it takes to wake people up and educate them. Sad, but true.
