SOOO the positive thing (after you say whew thank God they are alive) is that they might be out by Christmas?!?!?! OH MY GARAGE!!!
1. ya gotta go to the potty somewhere and at some point and for months!
-i mean 33 grown men who will be getting food and supplies in a tube from the surface" are gonna us the potty, but i wonder how that is built in the shelter they are in. They said oh people have been found in china after weeks so they do it...shooooot not only are they in a small space and more than likely wont be showering but what are they gonna do when their body starts expelling its waste?! they cant say "oh bob u used a tree to close to camp" lol
2. there has got to be a better plan in place for the "what if" if we do all this "normal" stuff like mining, and drilling for oil in water why is there no "what if plan"
-in a time where we have a government that wants to step in and make so many rules and regulations on minor things we can and cant do WHY is there no plan on what stuff like this?!? why are they waiting for the worst to happen to then say oh well lets see what works? We have been using these resources for years and no one ever thought to have a better contingency plan in to place?
3. CHRISTMAS! i mean having a time to get out of the mine with out being stuck for life is sweet BUT Christmas is MONTHS away?!
-OK so i had a C Section and was stuck in a hospital bed for like 4 days...by the morning of my forth day i could not wait for the dr to come and discharge me, the time could not go fast enormity soo you know thats when the clock started going backwards!
These men have been stuck for 18 days already and now they are going to be stuck til "possibly" Christmas and everyone on the surface is ok with that? I mean granted yes they will be coming out as many people who have been in a similar situation are not permanently apart of the mine they where in, but that still does not settle right with me...thats at least 116 days. I feel for these men b/c 33 of them down there with NO where to go but hope that they day to see light will come sooner. That has to be the worst cabin fever thats ever gonna occur. OH and do not let any "high school bitterness bickering" start down there then it would probably be one of the best reality TV shows ever that will not be able to see.
- "Contact was made yesterday with the miners trapped by a collapse in the roof of the mine, located outside the northern Chilean city of Copiapó, on 5 August. But they face an agonising wait while a larger borehole is drilled to the bottom of the San José mine to rescue them."
- "They can survive with support from the surface," he said. "They'll be able to have food and water, messages. They're even talking about them being able to send video. As long as they have enough air, they should be all right. They will create a community of their own but I expect some of them will have a very tough time, particularly if they're not experienced."
