I havent blogged on here in a long time BUT today something just ran me the WRONG WAY.
This Lady wrote a book about her son making choices to dress in girls clothing and her allowing him to. You got to be FLIPPING kidding me, people wondering why kids grow up thinking they have no boundaries or have to live by rules or regulations....b/c parents don't set any home!
My Brother would go in my closet when we were little and look at her heels and she would tell him " those are mommies, those are for girls" end of discussion he then knew that's wasn't for him. That simple.
This chick is "embracing who his is and not shapping who he has to be" BULLCRAP. so when he colors on our wall in crayons and says i was expressing my self does she then embrace who he is with out punishing him to shape who will be?
It works on all levels not just the gender one.
I myself love all my friends for who they are, but that doesnt mean i agree with everything that they do. I will teach my son right vs wrong, rights vs wants, how to fight for what he believes in while staying true to himself. At the same time i want to teach him that woman are not men and vis versa. Mean and woman are not equal they are two completely different creatures and therefore have different roles that should be played out. Thats how it is, if we were all to be equal then we would have been designed to do the same things...just that simple. Spiritually and scientifically that will not change.
I think this lady is jut allowing her son to fake the funk, and she is fanagaling her way out of playing her parent role to the fullest that she could while gaining some publicity along the way way. Our wayward, twisted society starts with the parenting of the next generations and if your not gonna play the role God gave you then you should have relinquished your title.
I pray for this child, all the hands around him, and the teachings that he has and will encounter in his life.
OH if you wanna see the book, and read the story that made me sooo uneasy check it out... http://www.myprincessboy.com/index.asp
